Accessibility at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

BCEC ON MERIVALE STREET
  • The building can be accessed via a combination of stairs, ramps and lifts.
  • The main entrance to BCEC on Merivale Street is located on the corner of Merivale & Glenelg Street, South Brisbane, and can be accessed via stairs or the lift adjacent to the stairs on the left-hand side.
  • External stairs provide access to the Great Hall and Exhibition Halls.
  • Lifts operate between pavement level on Merivale Street and the main concourse on exhibition level.
  • There is a drop off area in Glenelg Street, which offers protection from the weather.
  • You can enter the building through our Lower Foyer from Glenelg Street. The Lower Foyer has lifts accessing all levels of the building.
BCEC ON GREY STREET
  • The main entrance to BCEC on Grey Street is accessed via stairs or the ramp.
  • Russell Walk is the closest adjoining street which allows access to car park 3.
PARKING & SET DOWN POINTS
  • BCEC provides 24 hour undercover parking with a total of 1500 parking spaces including designated accessible parking bays conveniently located near the lifts.
  • Car parks can be accessed from Merivale, Melbourne and Grey streets. Please view the access map below for the car park entry locations.
  • Accessible parking spaces are available in the car parks adjacent to lift lobbies.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS

  • Accessible unisex toilets are located throughout the Centre and are located adjacent to major restroom blocks.
  • All accessible toilets have hand basins and are fitted with handrails with a monitored emergency duress system installed.

LIFTS

  • Internal lifts have braille signage and control panels that are at a convenient height for people in wheelchairs.
  • Each lift is fitted with an emergency button and an emergency telephone and has audible and visual cues to indicate floor levels.
